Volume Beats Perfection
Most churches are waiting to tell the perfect story.
The perfect video.
The perfect testimony.
The perfect baptism.
The perfect campaign.
Every story has to be Nat Geo-level video about the minority single mom with 4 kids the pastor has never met who gave $16 after the pastor’s message on tithing and suddenly got a job as CEO of a company at the same time her mom was cured of cancer and her husband came back to the country and reconciled with her and she started making homemade pancakes every morning as her kids when off to private school that they couldn’t afford last week but now they pay for all the kids in the city to go to.
But of course the church is framed as the hero in this “everyone can experience this” sort of story and we get to see 101 sermon clips of that message on social this week at the church that hasn’t seen a full room since their “launch large” day when their friends, in-laws, a loan officers (aka network coaches) came to visit and fluff the numbers.
Stop it. Stop it now.
Meanwhile...
Nothing gets posted.
Momentum isn’t built by one incredible piece of content.
It’s built by hundreds of ordinary moments.
A volunteer serving faithfully.
A family joining a group.
A kid getting baptized.
A construction update.
A behind-the-scenes photo.
A pastor grabbing coffee with a regular someone.
None of those stories are viral.
BUT together, they become culture.
People don’t remember one post.
They remember seeing your church consistently making a difference.
Stop chasing perfection.
Start increasing volume.
This week:
Post one behind-the-scenes picture.
Share one volunteer win.
Repost something one of your members shares.
Just keep telling stories.
The algorithm rewards consistency.
More importantly, so do people.

Amen. So very good.
