Those magical (or pesky) budget percentages

"What percentages should we budget by in church, Swebb? I heard [this] but they said [that]."

[They] always say, don’t they?

But are you “they”?

Do you have their budget, people, staff, city, building, swagger, gift, mission, anointing, baggage, frustrations, hidden truths, anxiety, or calling?

Then why are [their] percentages your guidelines?
35% for this, 40% for that, 10% for that… blah blah blah.

Don’t hear me wrong, I’m FOR percentage budgeting. We’ll get to that. But the specific numbers are NOT universal. Too many are operating (and choking) because they think they are.

So here’s what I think and have seen for budgeting percentages. And I expose some secrets in there that the big dogs aren’t telling you in those budget breakouts.
