There’s a Dynasty Waiting in the 6th Round
Why the Kingdom Isn’t Built on First-Round Flash, But 6th-Round Faithfulness
When Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round of the 2000 NFL Draft, nobody expected greatness.
The scouting report said:
“Poor build.”
“Lacks great physical stature.”
“Gets knocked down easily.”
“System QB.”
Translation?
“Meh. Might survive.”
Turns out, he had a dynasty inside him.
And no one saw it coming—not even the ones who picked him.
And church leader—this post is for you if you’ve ever felt like you’re being overlooked, underestimated, or outright ignored.
Because most of the time, God builds dynasties in the dark.
Not with hype. But with hidden obedience.
If you’ve never seen this, this is the real photo of the best QB in the history of American football. This is what the scouts saw.
*** This is one of my favorite epic stories of all time. It feels a little biblical like David and Goliath or Joseph rising to oversee the Egyptian empire. I once had the privilege of leading a team of legends who called themselves “The 6th Rounders.” We were all underdogs… overlooked, demoted, discarded, or one guy was even put on my team as his last resort (which speaks to both of us being though very little of). So I LOVE the Tom Brady story. I love to think what all those expert scouts and GMs thought every time he won ANOTHER Super Bowl. Funny (and sad) how this happens in churches, too, all the time.
