One of the most effective tools you can wield as a leader is not your ability to command or strategize, but your ability to ask the right questions.
As most of you probably know, I had the privilege of overseeing a team of Campus Pastors (CPs) in one of the most fun seasons of my life. Over time, I realized that if I wanted to get them to think deeply about their roles, I needed to move beyond the standard “How’s it going?” or “What can I do to help?”—questions that, while well-meaning, rarely spark the kind of reflection and growth I was looking for.
So, I started asking more specific, challenging, and thought-provoking questions to keep us all more nimble.
