As we’ve already said in a few posts, people WILL transition. And there are a variety of reasons.

Someone needs to be fired this week.

I know “Fire” has a super-negative connotation. But the point is that you have someone who is not living up to standards, doesn’t fit the desired culture, and isn’t going to come to that conclusion (or have the guts) to make them move on their own.

So they need to be fired. Or transitioned. Or cut loose. Or asked to move. Or “freed to step into their calling.”

No matter how churchy you want to make it sound, it needs to happen. So man up (or woman up) and make a decision like a leader.

And before we go further, saying “But we’re a church” is NOT a Christian thing to say. It’s a weak leader thing to say. If you can’t fire someone because “We’re a church” or “We should have grace” then YOU are the lid to your church. That’s more demonic than “the Christian thing to do.” Weak, weak, weak. You’re a tool of Satan. Stop that.
